Gong alternatives for a sales team that runs on HubSpot

The options a HubSpot sales team has besides Gong, from the conversation intelligence in Sales Hub to call recorders with a HubSpot integration, and what each one writes into your CRM.

Updated

A sales team on HubSpot that starts looking at Gong is usually asking something simpler than the category names suggest. What should land in HubSpot after a call, and who will read it?

This guide lists the options HubSpot teams weigh most often. For each one you get what the vendor says it does and what it writes into HubSpot, in the vendor's own words where we quote them. We checked every line on the vendor's own pages on 19 October 2026, and the links are at the bottom.

Nudge is on the list. We make it, so read that entry knowing who wrote it. It is also the odd one out: it records no calls at all.

The short version

  • Start with what you already pay for. HubSpot's own conversation intelligence comes with Sales Hub or Service Hub on Professional and Enterprise. It covers calls made through HubSpot's calling tool and some third-party calling providers.
  • For video meetings, choose a recorder by where its output lands. Some write a summary on the meeting record. Some fill deal properties you can report on. Some keep the transcript in their own app and leave a link in HubSpot.
  • Check your HubSpot plan first. Jiminny says it supports every HubSpot plan, Free included. HubSpot's own tool needs a Professional or Enterprise seat.
  • A recording tells you what was said on the call. Whether the buyer did anything afterwards is a separate question, and it is the one your forecast depends on.

Five questions before you choose

  1. Which calls does it cover? Phone calls placed through HubSpot, video meetings on Zoom, Google Meet or Teams, or both.
  2. Where does the output land in HubSpot? A note on the timeline, the meeting record, a task, or a deal property you can build a report on.
  3. Does the full transcript live in HubSpot or in the vendor's app? Some tools push the transcript. Others push a summary and a link back to their app.
  4. Which plans does it need, on both sides? Several features need a particular plan with the vendor, and HubSpot's own tool needs a Professional or Enterprise seat.
  5. Who has to set it up? Most of these integrations need admin rights in HubSpot and in the vendor's app.

Each option in more detail

HubSpot conversation intelligence

HubSpot says conversation intelligence "is available in Sales Hub". Its knowledge base says transcription analysis needs a Sales Hub or Service Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription, and covers "calls made through HubSpot's calling tool and some third-party calling providers". Recordings from video conferencing integrations such as Zoom or Teams create meeting records.

Worth a look if your team already has Professional or Enterprise seats and does most of its selling on the phone through HubSpot.

Avoma

Avoma says it "automatically captures what happens across calls, meetings, and emails and keeps HubSpot up to date". It syncs meeting notes, key takeaways and mapped conversation insights to the relevant contact, company and deal records, and can create HubSpot tasks when the notes contain action items. Field mapping needs the applicable Avoma licence.

Worth a look if you want the call to show up on the deal record, with follow-up tasks created for you.

Jiminny

Jiminny's help centre says "Jiminny logs video calls to HubSpot as engagements", which appear on the timeline of the matching contact, company or deal. It also says: "All HubSpot plans are supported: Free, Starter, Professional and Enterprise."

Worth a look if your team is on HubSpot Free or Starter.

Chorus by ZoomInfo

On its HubSpot Marketplace listing, Chorus says the integration "will associate your team's calls with HubSpot Account level data", connecting each conversation to its deal name, deal size and close date. It requires a Chorus by ZoomInfo subscription.

Worth a look if your team already works with ZoomInfo.

Fathom

Fathom's help centre says that after a call, the summary notes sit "under the Meeting event (located under the Meetings tab)" in HubSpot. Syncing the summary into deal fields "is only available on Business and Enterprise plans", and field mapping supports HubSpot text properties.

Worth a look if a summary on the meeting record is enough for now, and deal fields can wait for a plan change.

Fireflies

Fireflies "will automatically save a summary note to Hubspot after a meeting ends", and can add notes, summaries, a transcript link and tasks. Its guide also says it "does not push the full meeting transcript directly into HubSpot": HubSpot gets a link to the transcript in Fireflies.

Worth a look if you are happy for the full transcript to stay in Fireflies.

Otter

Otter says that after each call it "automatically pushes transcripts, summaries, insights, and action items into the right HubSpot records", including contacts, leads and deals.

Worth a look if you want the transcript itself inside HubSpot.

Modjo

Modjo's help centre says the integration finds the HubSpot contacts, accounts and opportunities related to your calls, adds the call activity when a call was not already logged, and shows comments made in Modjo on the matching HubSpot call. You need admin rights in both HubSpot and Modjo. Its French help centre adds that the meeting summary can be saved in HubSpot's Notes, and that HubSpot Leads are not supported yet.

Worth a look if your team sells in French as well as English. Modjo runs its site and its help centre in both.

tl;dv

tl;dv says every meeting it records "is matched to the HubSpot record it belongs to" and written there with a summary, the full transcript and a playable recording. It records Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams calls.

Worth a look if you want the recording itself playable from the HubSpot record.

And Gong itself

To compare like with like: Gong's help centre says connecting HubSpot lets an admin choose "which HubSpot data Gong imports and which Gong activities are exported to HubSpot". Gong calls itself the "#1 AI OS for Revenue Teams". Our Nudge vs Gong page steps through one composite deal read both ways, and the HubSpot page does the same against HubSpot's own deal score.

Where Nudge fits

Nudge records no calls. It sits beside whichever recorder you choose and takes the question a recording leaves open: did the buyer move?

It connects to HubSpot and reads deals, contacts, companies and their activities, and the email and calendar of each user who connects their own and agrees. From your won and lost deals it learns how your buyers buy. Then it watches your open deals for the same moves: who replied, who joined from their side, which next steps the buyer took on, and whether they kept them.

It reads only until your organisation's admin allows writing. After that it writes into fields you already have, and only from something the buyer did. The security page lists every connection.

Worth a look if what you wanted from Gong was the forecast question: which deals are really moving. It works next to any recorder above. The recorder keeps the call; Nudge reads what the buyer did after it.

How to choose

  • You are on HubSpot Free or Starter. Shortlist tools that support every plan, such as Jiminny, and check each vendor's plan page.
  • You have Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise seats and sell by phone. Try HubSpot's conversation intelligence before you buy anything.
  • Your reps live in video meetings. Compare Avoma, Fathom, Fireflies, Otter and tl;dv on one question: where does the output land in HubSpot?
  • Your team sells in French. Add Modjo to the shortlist.
  • Your real problem is deals that slip. A recorder lets you hear the calls. Reading whether the buyer moved is what the stalled-deals guide covers, and what Nudge does.

FAQ

Does HubSpot have its own alternative to Gong?

HubSpot's conversation intelligence is part of Sales Hub. HubSpot's knowledge base says transcription analysis needs a Sales Hub or Service Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription, and it covers calls made through HubSpot's calling tool and some third-party calling providers.

Which Gong alternatives write call notes onto HubSpot deals?

According to their own pages, Avoma syncs notes and insights to contact, company and deal records, Jiminny logs video calls on the matching deal's timeline, and Otter pushes transcripts and summaries into deals. Fathom maps its summary to deal fields on its Business and Enterprise plans.

Do these tools work on HubSpot's free CRM?

It depends on the tool. Jiminny's help centre says it supports every HubSpot plan, Free included. HubSpot's own conversation intelligence needs a Professional or Enterprise subscription. Check each vendor's page against the plan you are on.

Can I use a call recorder and Nudge together?

Yes. A recorder captures what was said on the call. Nudge reads the buyer's side of the deal in HubSpot, email and calendar, and asks whether the buyer moved. Neither replaces the other.
